In short

  1. Open Settings › Channels. Sign in at app.ezychat.io and go to Settings, then Channels.
  2. Choose WhatsApp Business API, then Continue with Meta. Click the WhatsApp Business API card. In the Connect WhatsApp window, click Continue with Meta to open Meta's sign-up window.
  3. Finish the steps in Meta's window. Sign in to Facebook, choose or create your business portfolio and WhatsApp Business Account, add your phone number and display name, and enter the code Meta sends.
  4. Check the channel is connected. When Meta's window closes, ezychat shows Connecting your number and then lists the number in Channels.
  5. Put an AI employee on the number. Open AI employees, pick your employee, publish it, and add the WhatsApp number on its Channels tab.
  6. Send a test message. From a different phone, WhatsApp your business number with a question your documents answer, and watch the reply arrive in the inbox.

The WhatsApp Business API is how software like ezychat.io connects to your WhatsApp number. You connect it yourself from ezychat, through Meta’s own sign-up window, and the number stays on a WhatsApp Business Account that belongs to your business.

Before you begin

  • A Facebook account that can manage your business on Meta. If you don’t have a business portfolio yet, you can create one during sign-up.
  • A phone number that can receive a code by SMS or a phone call.
  • If the number is in the WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app today, remove it from the app first. Chats on the phone do not carry over to the API, so back up any you want to keep before you start.

1. Open Settings › Channels

Sign in at app.ezychat.io and go to Settings › Channels. Under Connect a channel you’ll see a card for each channel.

2. Choose WhatsApp Business API, then Continue with Meta

Click the WhatsApp Business API card. The Connect WhatsApp window explains that you’ll sign in with Meta and pick or add a WhatsApp Business number. Click Continue with Meta. Meta’s sign-up window opens in a pop-up, so allow pop-ups for app.ezychat.io if your browser blocks it.

3. Finish the steps in Meta’s window

While Meta’s window is open, ezychat shows Waiting for Meta — finish the steps in the popup window. In Meta’s window:

  1. Sign in to Facebook.
  2. Choose or create your business portfolio.
  3. Choose or create your WhatsApp Business Account.
  4. Add your phone number and the display name customers will see.
  5. Enter the code Meta sends you by SMS or call.

4. Check the channel is connected

When Meta’s window closes, ezychat shows Connecting your number…. A moment later the number appears under Connected channels. Messages from customers now arrive in your inbox.

If the channel shows Pending name review, Meta is checking your display name. That can take a few days. It’s Meta’s process, and nothing in ezychat needs to change.

5. Put an AI employee on the number

Open AI employees and pick your employee, or hire one if you haven’t yet. An employee has to be published before it can go on a channel. Then open its Channels tab and add the WhatsApp number.

New AI employees start with Drafts first: they write each reply and your team approves it. Switch to Replies on its own on the Behavior tab when you trust it.

6. Send a test message

From a different phone, WhatsApp your business number with a question your documents answer, such as a price or your opening hours. You’ll see the conversation arrive in the inbox. While your employee is on Drafts first, its reply waits in Work items for someone to approve; once it Replies on its own, the answer goes straight to the customer.

What Meta charges

Meta bills its WhatsApp message fees to your own WhatsApp Business Account, at the rates on Meta’s pricing page. ezychat adds no markup. Our plain-English explainer covers what the rates mean for a Malaysian business.

Questions

Who pays for WhatsApp messages?

Meta bills its message fees to your own WhatsApp Business Account. ezychat adds nothing on top and never charges per AI reply.

Can I connect more than one number?

Yes. Each number is a channel. Your plan sets how many channels you can connect, from 1 on Free to 20 on Scale.

Meta asked me to verify my business. Why?

Meta may ask for business verification before you can message more customers each day. It happens in Meta Business Settings, not in ezychat.

My channel says Pending name review. What does that mean?

Meta is reviewing the display name customers will see. This can take a few days, and Meta decides it, not ezychat.
