I connected Instagram but no messages arrive. Why?

Instagram keeps message access off until you allow it. In the Instagram app, go to Settings › Messages and story replies › Message controls › Connected tools, and turn on Allow access to messages.

It says none of my pages have a linked Instagram account.

ezychat connects Instagram through the Facebook Page it is linked to. Switch the Instagram account to a professional account and link it to your Page in Instagram's settings, then try again.

Are comments included?

Comments on your posts come through a social account, connected separately under Settings › Social accounts. Connect both to handle DMs and comments in one inbox.

Connect Instagram DMs and Facebook Messenger

Sign in with Facebook, pick your Page, and your Instagram and Messenger conversations land in the same inbox as WhatsApp.

In short

Open Settings › Channels. Sign in at app.ezychat.io and go to Settings, then Channels.
Choose Instagram or Messenger, then Continue with Facebook. Click the Instagram or Messenger card, then Continue with Facebook, and sign in.
Pick the Page to connect. Choose the Facebook Page for Messenger, or the Page your Instagram professional account is linked to.
Allow access to messages on Instagram. In the Instagram app, go to Settings, Messages and story replies, Message controls, Connected tools, and turn on Allow access to messages.
Put your AI employee on the channel. Open your published AI employee's Channels tab and add the new channel.

Instagram direct messages and Facebook Messenger both connect through Facebook, using the Page that represents your business. Once connected, their conversations sit in the same ezychat.io inbox as WhatsApp, answered by your AI employee and your team.

Before you begin

A Facebook Page for your business, and admin access to it on your Facebook account.
For Instagram: a professional account (Business or Creator) that is linked to that Facebook Page.

1. Open Settings › Channels

2. Choose Instagram or Messenger, then Continue with Facebook

Under Connect a channel, click Messenger (Connect a Facebook page for Messenger conversations) or Instagram (Connect an Instagram professional account linked to a Facebook page). The window says you’ll sign in with Facebook and choose a page. Click Continue with Facebook.

3. Pick the Page to connect

Choose the Page you want. For Instagram, pick the Page your Instagram professional account is linked to. ezychat shows Connecting… and then lists the channel under Connected channels.

If you see None of your pages have a linked Instagram professional account, link the account to your Page in Instagram’s settings first.

4. Allow access to messages on Instagram

This step is easy to miss, and it’s the most common reason Instagram DMs never reach ezychat. In the Instagram app:

Open Settings.
Go to Messages and story replies › Message controls.
Under Connected tools, turn on Allow access to messages.

Messenger does not need this step.

5. Put your AI employee on the channel

Open AI employees, pick a published employee, and add the new channel on its Channels tab. It now answers Instagram or Messenger with the same documents and guardrails as everywhere else.

Check it works

From a personal account, send your business a DM with a question your documents answer. The conversation should appear in the inbox within moments. If nothing arrives on Instagram, go back to step 4.
