In short

  1. Hire an AI employee. Open AI employees and click Hire an AI employee. Pick a role, the kind of business it's for, and a name, then hire it.
  2. Give it your documents. Open Knowledge and add your price list, FAQs and policies with Add file or Add text.
  3. Check its guardrails. On the Guardrails tab, review the industry rules, what needs a person's approval, what it must never promise, and its languages.
  4. Try it privately. Use the test chat to ask a real question and a tricky one. Nothing there reaches customers.
  5. Publish it. Click Publish. ezychat checks the employee is ready and keeps the version.
  6. Put it on your channels. On the Channels tab, add the WhatsApp number, Instagram, Messenger or website chat it should answer.

An AI employee is the AI agent that answers your customers. You hire it in two decisions, a job and a name, and ezychat.io sets up a starting configuration and your industry’s guardrails as a draft, ready to test.

1. Hire an AI employee

Open AI employees and click Hire an AI employee. Pick a role:

  • Support answers product and service questions, resolves issues and hands off to your team when something needs a human.
  • Sales helps customers choose the right product, answers pre-purchase questions and captures buying requests.
  • Receptionist greets customers, covers hours, location and services, and takes appointment or callback requests.
  • Custom starts with a blank persona.

Under What kind of business is this for? choose your industry, such as Property & real estate or Clinic & healthcare. This sets the guardrails it starts with. Give it a name and click Hire.

2. Give it your documents

Your employee answers only from what you give it. Open Knowledge and use Add file for each document, one at a time: PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, text, Markdown or an image such as a photo of your menu. Use Add text for short facts, like your opening hours.

Good first documents are your price list, your FAQs, and your delivery, refund and booking policies. See how to prepare your knowledge.

3. Check its guardrails

Open the employee’s Guardrails tab. You’ll see:

  • Topics to avoid, with politics, religion and race politely deflected by default.
  • Needs a person’s approval, such as discounts.
  • Never promise, such as guaranteed results.
  • Languages & tone, including which languages it may reply in.

Change anything that doesn’t fit your business.

4. Try it privately

Use the test chat on the employee’s page. It’s private: customers never see it. Try a real question, then a tricky one, such as a discount request or something your documents don’t cover, and check it hands over instead of guessing.

5. Publish it

Click Publish. ezychat checks the employee is ready to go live and keeps each version, so you can see what changed.

6. Put it on your channels

Open the Channels tab and add the channels it should answer. An employee has to be published before it can go on a channel.

Choose how it works

On the Behavior tab:

  • Replies: start with Drafts first, where it writes each reply for your team to approve. Move to Replies on its own when you trust it. Guardrails apply either way.
  • Working hours: Always on, Business hours only or After hours only.
  • Voice notes & images: on paid plans, it can understand voice notes and photos.

Questions

Which role should I pick?

Support answers product and service questions and hands off issues. Sales helps customers choose and captures buying requests. Receptionist covers hours, location and services and takes appointment or callback requests. Custom starts blank.

Will it send replies on its own straight away?

No. New employees start on Drafts first, so every reply waits for your team's approval. Switch to Replies on its own on the Behavior tab when you're ready.

Can it work only at night?

Yes. On the Behavior tab choose Always on, Business hours only, or After hours only.
